Tante Bep!

van Boetzelaarlaan

Den Haag

Everyone wants an Aunt Betty – Smaakweb loved her and her concept immediately. Tante Bep is fun, delicious and new for young and old.  Tante Bep (with her cousin Stephan Lems) co-operates will the best caterers, restaurants and butchers; such as Simon de Vogel, Dungelmann, Oni, Vis., Da Braccini, Uthai Tani, Sushi Clinic etc. Just have a look at their site. Every day she has something else on offer, freshly made hearty and good! They have quirky “green” scooters to deliver the meals to your door at a reasonable price. You can have it delivered at the office or at your home. Recently also in Amsterdam. You can also find them on Facebook or Twitter sign in at ..http://tantebep.nl/restaurants/070

Simon de Vogel started his company 27 years ago and it grew from a cheese shop to a caterer and delicatessen known all over the Netherlands. He also has a good stock of wines. We saw the wines from the Chateau Thuerry with that very special label made from clay. Costs around € 30, but then you have something special. However they also have very reasonable wines from around € 6. They have delicious salads and a good selection of cheeses. On their website you can find cocktail snacks, salads, amuse and various platters made to order: www.simondevogel.nl .  We can also recommend the sourdough bread which Jordy bakes,  you can also bake it off yourself.

They now have a “meal of the week” €9,50 pp, you can call and reserve one so you are sure there is still one left at the end of the day (the shop closes at 19:00 but you are still welcome if you arrive just before).   The chef is Dennis Vinken, he was trained at the prestigious Cees Helder Academy.

If you are unable to go to the shop yourself, there is Tante Bep who will deliver the meal to your door on her "green" scooter (on Thursdays).

They regularly organize tastings in the shop or on special locations: sign in and you will be invited.

website: www.sushiclinic.nl

Opening hours: Wednesday 11.00-18.00, Thursday 11.00-19.00, Friday 11.00-18.00, Saturday 11.00-17.00 uur hrs.

During the event “Den Haag over de Kook” we tasted sushi from the Sushi Clinic for the first time.  We knew at once, that it had the Smaakweb quality we demand. We still have to visit them, but this is just a small teaser of what is to come.  Sushi is made fresh daily of course, they look good and are made with a great deal of attention.

They also give Sushi making clinics, in 2,5 hours you learn the basics of Sushi making for €45,-.

you can make this yourself after you followed a workshop!

The “speedy waitresses” are a group of female students who have had extensive experience in helping you with your party. From beginning to the end they can takeover many of the tasks from the host/hostess.  They are fast, clever and well dressed!
